Celebrates New Name and Vibrant Impressions

The Colorado Artfest in Castle Rock, previously the Castle Rock Artfest, has a new identity thanks to its expanding reputation as a major fine arts show in the state and nation. The twenty first annual juried fine art show, facilitated by the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Town of Castle Rock and Douglas County Libraries, will bring a renewed energy to downtown Castle Rock on September 11^th and 12^th with “vibrant impressions” by more than 180 juried artists nationally and internationally.  Stretching from the Castle Rock Town Hall to the Philip S. Miller Library on Wilcox, the art event showcases an eclectic variety of art for sale.

In addition to the artistic expression, live mainstage musical entertainment on two stages will enliven the streets on Saturday, between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm and Sunday, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.  Other popular features of the festival include food, beer and soda vendors; a silent auction, the Artfest Store, “street” entertainment and the Imagination Zone with interactive art and cultural activities for children.  Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and children under 12 are free.

It all adds up to a weekend filled with color and creativity, a cultural event for the whole family to enjoy.  Don’t forget to bring your appetite for lunch while you enjoy great musical entertainment.  There is something for every age and every preference at the Colorado Artfest, Castle Rock’s signature community event, presented by CoWest Insurance Group and Sky Ridge Medical Center.

Approximately 25,000 participants will delight in the artistic impressions of more than 170 artists from across the country. Continual live main stage entertainment, featuring popular musicians such as Hot Tomato’s Dance Orchestra, Phat Daddy, Palmer Divide Blue Grass, and Front Street Blues Band will provide a complimentary backdrop to this year’s program.

We will also feature strolling entertainers, the crowd-pleased dance group, Group Tlaloc Danza Azteca, the Artfest Store; a silent auction; food and beverage vendors sure to tantalize your taste buds and an Imagination Zone for children.

There is something for everyone at the 21st annual Castle Rock Artfest - the weekend of September 11th and 12th.
